Book Reviews

Our little iconic tortoise has inspired several books in the past few years.

“Westy the western swamp tortoise” by our own member Cathy, is a photo book for juniors about the tortoise lifestyle. Written in an easy to read format, with glossy pictures and thought provoking text, this book is available through our website. Just go to the contact page and we’ll guide your purchase. Cathy has kindly donated ALL proceeds to the Group and we have donated many copies to school libraries throughout Perth.

Hard Copy $23, Soft copy $19, Guided Reading Kit (10 books) $120 plus postage.

“Wally’s Way Home” is a beautifully illustrated story by schoolgirl, Neeve, aged 15. She has devised a wonderful story featuring a tortoise and lots of other Australian animals who try to help him find his way home. The book is self-published, and a part of every sale goes to the Group. It is available through the Western Australian Naturalist Club for $15.
